National Collegiate Open moved to
Deep Run High School, limited to 215 athletes

Richmond, Virginia – Local host of the National Collegiate Open, the Virginia Wrestling Association, in cooperation with Wexvar, has announced a change in venue for the Sunday, March 2, 2014 championship.
Sunday’s National Collegiate Open will be held at:
Deep Run High School
4801 Twin Hickory Road
Glen Allen, VA 23059
Wexvar recently learned, due to a scheduling error between the Virginia Wrestling Association and the City of Richmond, the Arthur Ashe Center, where the National Collegiate Open has been held the two seasons prior, was not available for the weekend wrestling tournaments previously scheduled.
In an effort to ensure that athletes and fans were minimally impacted, a local venue was sought that would ensure the event would be able to continue as a quality event. This search resulted in the selection of nearby Deep Run High School.
Due to the new venue’s size, the 2014 National Collegiate Open will be closing registration to the first 215 athletes. The event's schedule will remain unaltered.

About the National Collegiate Open:
Since 2009, the National Collegiate Open (NCO) has provided athletes around the country with the opportunity to finish the collegiate open season with a championship event.
In those six years there have been 72 NCAA Division-I wrestling programs represented at the championships. In the past four years, NCO Athletes have claimed 219 of the NCAA Division-I National Qualifier slots and gone on to earn 34 NCAA Division-I All-American honors.
Top six finishers at the 2014 National Collegiate Open are recognized as National Collegiate Open All-Americans and will earn awards provided by Compound Clothing. This year’s event will have video coverage provided by NSideWrestling.
